That 90's show

Remember all those great 90's shows that we grew up on ? Seems like all that's on tv these days is garbage . Here let me refresh your brain with some of the shows that I use to watch. 7th Heaven was that family favorite and every night I would get excited to see what that family got into. When the children grew up I felt like I grew up , when Matt, Mary, and Lucy got married I felt like one of my siblings did . The famous Boy Meets World showed me everything that I needed know about boys and how friendship is the most important thing that anyone could ever have . I had never heard the name Topanga until this show and still haven't, but the romance between Cory and Topanga is one for the ages . Dr. Quinn The Medicine Woman was always a classic to watch , and ER was my favorite. When I was younger my brothers and I were obsessed with watching ER because my older brother wanted to be a doctor . Even though some of it got a little gross I would watch it to spend time with my brothers . As for cartoons Dexter's Laboratory, Power Puff Girls , Dragon Ball Z , Pokemon, and Ed Edd and Eddy were the shows I would watch on cartoon network . Home Improvement with Tim Allen was hilarious and Jonathan Taylor Thomas wasn't bad to look at . On CBS, JAG was our show before CSI came on . I remember always wanting Harmon and MacKenzie to get together . Saved By The Bell took us from freshman in high school to College years . Who would have known that Screech would become a porn star and Lisa would become bipolar . I loved Sister, Sister especially the mama her personality always made me laugh ! I didn't watch Step By Step too much, but I still enjoyed it . Last but not least is my #1 ........ Full House ; this is my all time most watched over the years ! Everyone could relate to one character , it felt like you were in the family when you watched it . Waiting to see what DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle got into and how the boys would try to fix it . I guess it's safe to say though that we don't have a show now that makes you feel good and like you are at home . I miss these shows and maybe it's because they are my childhood or maybe it's the little piece of home that I miss .

Beauty Queen of only 18

My 18th birthday is coming up Saturday and I am somewhat excited . When you are young you think that turning 18 is some great freedom moment like if you were getting out of prison , but no . Sure you can buy cigarettes , buy lottery tickets , vote , and get into clubs , but there are also many responsibilities that come with it. Usually when a person turns 18 they are expected to go to college and take care of themselves. Also you are legally an adult and people expect you to live up to your responsibilities . I don't want to sound like I'm complaining or anything because I feel lucky to have made it to 18 . I guess the word is scared , I'm scared of what may happen next year , I'm scared of not becoming who I want to be , I'm scared that nothing will ever be the same . If y'all don't know I'm thinking about going into digital communications in college because of blogging . Looking back at this year I think I've grown a lot. I've had to let go of some friends , fell in love , had close people to me die, learned not to play with fire, and that some people will never change . Not to be all down because I did learn what love and friendship really means . I guess the only thing to do is accept the coming obstacles with grace and pray when the problems come. So I leave you tonight with the words of my girl T. Swift . Here's to the next 18 years !

No one's ever burned you
Nothing's ever left you scarred
And even though you want to
Just try to never grow up

Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room
Memorize what it sounded like when your dad gets home
Remember the footsteps, remember the words said
And all your little brother's favorite songs

I just realized everything I have
Is someday gonna be gone

So here I am in my new apartment
In a big city, they just dropped me off
It's so much colder than I thought it would be
So I tuck myself in and turn my night light on

Wish I'd never grown up
I wish I'd never grown up

Best feast of the year

It's time to take out the turkey and gather around the table with your closest family and friends. Yes, I'm going to be cheesy and wish you all a very wonderful Thanksgiving ! So, as for me I am watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade because it's the only tradition I actually have. Every year I look forward to seeing all the floats and the precious Santa at the end . For me, seeing Santa always reminds me of how close we are to Christmas and the crazy shopping mode I will have to get in . Anyways, until then I will now go into the kitchen and sneak a little piece of turkey . My favorite dish this year will be the sweet potatoes oh my goodness they smell delish and don't even get me started on the apple pie. Enough about food, this is the moment in the blog where it gets sentimental Thanksgiving isn't just about food and tradition, it's about giving thanks and giving to others. I am thankful for God, family, friends, and being able to live in a free country. Let's all take a moment today and do something for someone else, even if that means cleaning up the dishes or spending time with your grandparents. Again Happy Thanksgiving and I am thankful for all my viewers too !
